By keeping in mind the same the farsighted visionary person Late Shri. Dadasaheb Mokashi established the basic agricultural branches viz. Food Technology in 2004 at Rajmachi, Karad, Dist. Satara. It is my pleasure to welcome you to DMCFT, Rajmachi.

The motive behind doing this is to prepare highly qualified students scientifically and practically through specialized courses, conducting scientific and applied research to solve problems in agriculture, and develop agricultural practices using modern technologies. Students learn skills, and basic sciences and engineering/technology that would enable them to access different agricultural systems with higher efficiency to ensure the best results both technically and economically.

To train students who are interested in food technology, the institutes has a number of laboratories equipped with technical units/machineries/instruments, all supporting necessary academic facilities with high experienced competence faculty, assistant investigator and technicians.

Food Technology stream is developed with the vision to provide synergies between the two pillars of economy -Food industry and agriculture and to achieve food science, food production, food processing, food technology, food safety, food management, entrepreneurship development, food processing and rural development; agriculture and industry linkage through food processing, quality assurance for safe food, research and development on functional foods.

These advances can provide similar benefits in the 21st century, not just to the farmer but also to the environment, the food chain and the global consumer.
